Oasis Urban Art Project 2019 and 2021
Thanks to funding from Hesters Way Partnership (HWP), the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire and Bence Builders Merchants, local young people were able to paint a sick(!) mural next to the new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Oasis on Princess Elizabeth Way.

Twenty local youngsters helped come up with designs in workshops at the Oasis Centre with the help of a local urban artist Slaz. The ideas generated were then translated into a huge mural using spray paints to create the mural above.
A second mural again painted with the help of Slaz was overlaid the first in the summer of 2021 – see below

King George V – Listening Dragon 2018
WCP has worked with artist Rob Olins from Coleford, local children at the Rowanfield School and the local community to regenerate the Listening Dragon artwork in KGV playing fields.
The piece includes two concrete disks which reflect sound and is based on the earliest airship detection systems which were designed by the precursor to GCHQ. The wood sleepers represent the body of a dragon emerging from the surface of the earth – appropriate as its King George’s field!

The project was financed by public art funds from the GlosCol site on Devon Avenue and from the Summerfield Trust

Hesters Way Story Chair 2011
Thanks to public art funds released from the section 106 agreement at a housing development off Rowanfield Road a scheme was developed with local sculptor Natasha Houseago and Digital artist David Grange to produce the Hesters Way Story Chair. The chair is on display in the Hesters Way library lobby.

Mosaic Murals 2006
In the Hesters Way Partnership worked with Cheltenham in Bloom to develop 6 mosaic murals for the wall of the HWCRC commemorating the local area. The murals were created by local groups from Cheltenham Borough Homes, Glos Coll, the St Aidans Church and Monkscroft School. Unfortunately time has taken its toll and only three are still intact. The other three have been saved and are awaiting repair!
